06/06/2011 Hi Denny, I was really anxious, excited and a little apprehensive after ordering one of the discount guitars. The one I ordered was black. I guess people have horror stories about ordering items from the internet. I looked at your site many, many times and listed to just about all of the testimonials. I come from a generation that is really trusting. I was always thinking to myself about these sensational reviews about your guitar. These guitars can't be this good. I have been playing a lesser guitar just to see if I would get the interest back from 40 years ago. Happily I got the bug again, but knew I needed a better quality guitar. I accidentally found your site from E-bay and started seriously going about researching guitars. I went to a few music shops and played Martins of all price ranges, taylors and Montana made Gibsons. They were fine instruments, but didn't blow me out of the water. I decided to try one of your instruments, the black Zad 50ce. I really didn't know what to expect, but was amazed at the instrument. It arrived when you said it would and because of the weather, I let it warm up gradually. I couldn't wait to play it. The polaroid of you tuning it before shipment was a good touch. Well, I played it and it is all that you proclaim it to be. It is beautiful and sounds as good as it looks, but the best thing is the playability. It is fun to play and not hard on these old hands and fingers of mine. Also thanks for the informative videos on the instrument, the guitar stand, strings, picks, and the T-shirt. I am doing the Learn and Master Guitar lessons with Steve Krenz. I am almost 2/3 of the way and will probably take your online lessons in the fall. |

06/06/2011 I received my ZAD-50CE two days ago, and I have hardly put it down since it arrived. What a beautiful guitar! And, wow, does it play nice. It is so much easier to play than my previous guitars, and my hands and fingers are so relaxed when I play. The sound is terrific. I can play softly, and the sound just fills the room. It is certainly eveything you claimed it to be. I was very skeptical about buying a guitar online without being able to play it first, but I am so glad that I did. I am really glad that I stumbled upon your website.

06/06/2011 Justin's guitar arrived Friday afternoon and I gave it to him Saturday night. He loves it and I am not sure he has put it down yet! He appreciated your dad personalizing it, signing it, and including the pic of himself tuning it. Justin played non-stop for over an hour Saturday before he had to leave to get my 5-year-old granddaughter home to bed. He was supposed to go snowboarding yesterday (he hasn't been for 3 weeks, which is a record for him), but stayed home and played his new Zager all day. He, his wife, and their daughter came over for dinner last night and he brought the guitar with him and played some more. Not only is it beautiful, but it has a great sound, too. |

05/30/2011 Just got my ZAD 50 CE and I wast just barely able to put it down long enough to write this email...Needless to say, that unlike most times when purchasing music gear online, I was NOT disappointed!!!! Love It, Love It, Love it. I have been playing for 24 years, have owned Gibson, Taylor, Tacoma, and Washburns, and this guitar takes the prize.
All the technical stuff aside, it sounds incredible!!, and plays as easy as my ES-335. |

05/27/2011 just thought I'd drop a line to let you know how astonished I was at the superb tone and quality of the 80-CE guitar I just received. I have played guitar (electric and acoustic) for about 20 years now, and have owned nearly 20 vintage and new guitars. The sound and build of this guitar - cedar top (wise choice), rosewood back and sides, abalone trim, binding - are all top quality. It holds up to my Gibson J-200 in tone, and is of comparable quality to the high end Martins I have played (and nearly bought - luckily I found you first). The 80CE is easily one of the best playing acoustics I have touched. My wife was not happy I had bought "yet another" acoustic since I didn't really need one, until she heard the Zager; then she understood. |

quality. I have 25 guitars acoustic and electric and have been playing 35
years off and on. I am very impressed with the quality of the ZAD 80OMCE. I
have a friend that has a Martin Clapton and the Zager plays better and in my opinion sounds better. The Larrivee OM-5 that I am comparing the Zager to is about 9 years old. It has fantastic sound and has incredibly low, easy action. I guess that I am spoiled. I have a Taylor 514 CE and the Zager does indeed play better and easier than it does. |

05/21/2011 It took me over a year to write to you for one big reason. It's easy to praise a new instrument, so I wanted to see how I would like my guitar after playing it for awhile. So I ordered the ZAD-50 model in black back in Oct. of '09. I have been playing guitar on and off for over 45 years, but never took lessons and just played for my own amusement. I had a Penko guitar(from a Phila based company, which I believe was made in the Ibanez factory) for many years, having purchased it from a friend who played with Kris Kristopherson in his early years. The guitar had warped and I wanted a new one. Quite by accident I stumbled upon hundreds of reviews from Harmony-central about the Zager guitars and the playing ease and beauty of the instruments you modify and distribute, so I ordered one. Having grown up in the 60s I had of course heard of you and very fondly remember the year 2525. I figured if you were willing to put your reputation at risk and were willing to support the instrument with full money back guarantee, it was worth taking a chance. During our annual family Christmas gathering a few weeks later, I showed the guitar to my brother-in-law and nephews who are all accomplished players and they absolutely loved it. They said the tone was beautiful, the action was nice and low and most of all it was extremely well made. Many times when they come to visit, I find them in the basement playing it. I just wanted to thank you for producing a high quality instrument that I am happy to play. Every one tells you to always try an instrument before you buy it. With Zager guitars that's not really possible. In fact it 's not even necessary. |

05/19/2011 Hello Denny, I purchased your ZAD-80CE guitar about two weeks ago. I actually was waiting before leaving any feedback because, frankly, I have no guitar experience. This is my first guitar. I had been playing one lent to me by a co-worker for about two weeks prior to purchasing yours. It is my buddy Fred's testimonial that I will share with you. Fred lives to play guitar. He just turned 60 and has played since he was 17. To listen and watch him play is pure joy. His soul comes out when he starts playing. Fred owns about 6 guitars. His accoustic is a Taylor 414CE. I believe he said it goes for about 2800.00. Well anyway, I decided to take my guitar to work and let Fred check it out. Also, it will give me inspiration and alot of knowledge listening and practicing with him during lunch. He was blown away by your guitar. He was absolutely esctatic about how good it sounded and kept commenting on the low action and ease of playing it. He says I made a great choice and I definately got my moneys worth. Before seeing and playing yours, he had never heard of Zager. Now he wants one, so your guitar sold itself in about an hours time. I was going to start out with DAMN YOU Dennis, but that would set the stage incorrectly because I am not upset at all . The reason for my purchase was to have an well actioned - good sounding-acoustic guitar to play so I didn't have to hook up my amp etc. But my 80 CE OM has become my Guitar of choice, unless I wish a sound not becoming an acoustical Guitar . Like many other customer's of yours I now find a need to Play Music more often than since the 80's. As many have said to you in there letter's to you , THANK YOU !!! |

I purchased a discounted ZAD50 better than 2 weeks ago, now my review thus far. My reason for buying a discounted guitar from zager,(knowing custom anything varies)was not so much for the savings, but to see if the box was played in a bit, this wound up to be true. To this day I really can’t find the flaws. So no biggie! The black guitar just about jumped out of the box,Gorgeous ++. Very nice case Well built with lock.
After letting the guitar stand to acclimate to the house temperature for aprox two hrs (which was torture),I picked it up out of the case, and strummed my first chord, what a nice full sound in fact sweet! Even with the extra light strings,(which I was a bit sceptacle) the guitar had great push, and put a whole new meaning to fast into my playing. More than 2 weeks of playing this guitar, Denny’s claims are true, my fingers don’t hurt so I play longer, the action is so sweet I play much cleaner, more precise,which always helps with timing. |

05/15/2011 I decided to give one of your discount ZAD-50CEs a try. I had been trying feverishly to learn four basic chords and switch between them on a very slow tempo beat on the guitar my wife had bought. It was going very poorly. On the day my guitar arrived I got it out of the case as soon as I got home from work. I was completely impressed with the sheer beauty of this instrument as well as with the fit and finish. I tuned it up with the nifty built in tuner (I had viewed all of your videos ahead of time, so I knew how to do this). I immediately started working on the 4 chords I had been working on. I was blown away by the ease of play, and within a very short period of time I was sounding each of the chords cleanly with no pain. I was soon changing chords to a slow tempo the first day I picked up the ZAD-50CE guitar. The quality of the sound from the 50CE was also very noticeable. Three weeks have passed since I started playing guitar, and I practice every day except one of them. The last week’s practice has been on the 50CE and I am completely pleased with my progress. |

05/15/2011 Well....what can I say? I eagerly awaited the arrival of my new Zager. I had very high hopes after doing much research and with emailing with Dennis Jr. It was a big step for me because I had to sell my Taylor in order to get this one. I had gone a few days without playing so my anticipation was even greater. All I can say is, it was worth the wait! I tracked it thru the website and when I saw it had been delivered, I actually left work to go home and play it. Was it everything that I had hoped for and then some? Definitely. As I unpacked it, I was met with the sight of its case that was a precision fit. When I opened her up, what a stunning piece of art looked back at me. The sunburst design was one of the most beautiful things I had seen and to top it all off, mingled into the strings was a Polaroid of Dennis playing MY guitar before it got packed....AWESOME. The sound that come out of the guitar made it sound as if I had been playing long past my experience level and it lived up to its billing as EZ play. Needless to say I played on for a couple hours,a and I never thought about it once that Ihad been playing for so long. WHY? Because I had no fatigue in my hand! 05/12/2011 I have thought about learning to play guitar several times since my brother began playing over 30 years ago. Every time I picked one up and attempted to play a few chords my fingers felt like they were “being eaten by the strings” then I remembered why I didn’t want to learn all over again. About a month ago I got the itch to learn again. Instead of going to a music store this time, I went online. I learned that there were substantial differences in playability between guitars. Reading blogs and comments from guitarists I attempted to educate my self about what I call “user friendly” guitars.” I found that the “higher end instruments” were probably what I was looking for but how could I justify the price of a “good guitar” without really knowing if I was going to like playing it? Continuing my search I came across Zager EZ-Play Guitars. The name immediately had my interest. The website testimonials impressed me. I sent a message to your “Chat Live” link on the Zager website. I wasn’t really expecting an answer for a couple days because it was the weekend. I couldn’t believe the responsiveness to my e-mails. I was blown away with the personal service that was extended to me. All of my questions were answered promptly and in detail….Thank you!!!! The price tag for the Zager was a bit more than I had planned on spending in the beginning. In trying to make a decision I thought about most of the guitar players I knew. Most of them have at least a half a dozen guitars or more lying around. I thought “what if I didn’t like to play the guitar at all?” Being cheap I looked online for a used one. The people selling used ones were hard to find and were usually die hard Zager fans. Most were selling because they had bought another one to change to a different model of Zager for one reason or another. Also, the resale prices were high enough that it seemed to be in my best interest to purchase a new one. That says a lot. Now I wasn’t so worried about losing money if I didn’t like playing. The guarantee offered by the company seemed great too. The Zager guitar seemed to be the answer. I chose the Zager ZAD-80 CE because I wanted to buy “one guitar” not “one at a time.” Remember, I’m cheap and buying one right guitar is far less expensive than purchasing a half a dozen while eventually working up to “the right one.” Making the right decision in purchasing a Zager has definitely been validated. It’s everything you say it is and more! I’m enjoying learning to play. I love the onboard tuner and my practice time is much longer than I ever believed it could be. The parts of the guitar have proved to be first rate. The finish is awesome. It even smells good! I love the Zager case. My neighbor, who is really a quite good guitarist and who had recently purchased a much more expensive guitar, came over and tried out my Zager. He was impressed by its ease of playing. He picked it up and looked down the neck commenting “How do they get the strings so low without buzzing?” After playing for a while he said: “How can I explain buying another guitar to my wife?” He is one of those people with several. It made me smile to think of how he was impressed with “my first guitar” and it made me feel good to know that I had made the right decision. In conclusion, I don’t think I could have made a better choice. The price is worth every penny. I know now that I could have spent a lot more money and have gotten a lot less. It’s better than I will ever be at playing it. I’m completely satisfied with every aspect of my purchase and my new Zager guitar. |

05/07/2011 I have been playing guitar for 20+ years and have both extensive live and studio experience. I have had my ZAD-80 for a week now, and I must say it lives up to its billing. The sound is sweet and clear, it plays easier than any acoustic I have come across, and it looks great. I doubt one could find a comparable instrument for the same money--certainly not a brand new one. Keep up the good work! |

possibly be more pleased with my purchase! I just like----no,
LOVE---this guitar more and more. I had a buddy years ago that I
played with some that had a Martin D-35 that he had bought new in
1967-----Brazilian rosewood------that just sounded fantastic and I
swear it had nothing on this guitar sound-wise. Needless to say it's
playability wasn't anything close to EZ, if you know what I mean. I
think he paid about $400 to $500 for it back then, and if you could
find one like it today, I would guess it would price at around $2500
to $3500 and I seriously wouldn't trade this guitar for one if I
could. You mentioned that this guitar's sound would only improve with
time as the wood cured. I had never considered that, but if that's
true--------WOW! |

05/07/2011 I received my 80's model guitar yesterday. (Quick ship by the way). I played it last night and was blown away by the "ease" of playing it. I have a stratocaster now and really believe your's is easier to play. I am 58 years old and just picked up the guitar again after a 37 year lay-off. A guy here that plays and a terrific singer from Dallas got me back into it and we started a 60's group. It has turned out to be really very good and I had a need for an accoustic for the old Everly Brothers - Roy O and Jay and The Americans stuff. The trouble was my fingers are much older now and I needed something easier to play - I don't know how I was steered to you (just luck I guess) but I found you and the guitar is absolutely perfect. You make a wonderful product! |

04/30/2011 I just received my new Zager ZAD-50CE OM Acoustic/Electric today and I must say I was very impressed. I had read and listened to testimonials on Zager web site singing the praises of Zager guitars, but I had also read a lot of negative comments posted various places on the web. After spending a little time with my new guitar it is strikingly obvious that the negative comments were from people who had either never touched a Zager guitar, from people who had no idea what they were talking about, or from people with some sort of axe to grind -- perhaps disgruntled dealers selling other makes of guitars that do not match up in looks, tone or value. My guitar was NOT what was promised... it was much more. The finish was better than I believed it would be, the sound was better than the online demos, and the service was fantastic. |

04/27/2011 I received my ZAD 80 earlier this week and it's a beauty in every way. (Also the case is a masterpiece!) the guitar is amazing (I play both electric and acoustic guitars; I've played a lot of acoustic guitars, and after only a little time playing the ZAD 80 -- I've been very busy this week with work! and haven't had the time to really play the guitar for a good period of time -- I think this is going to become my favorite acoustic guitar! |
