08/01/2004 I received my guitar today and just wanted to say thank you. I had signed up for your on-line lessons recently and have been wearing my fingers out on my other guitar trying to learn Love Me Tender. I decided to order your guitar and I wish I had it sooner. I discovered Zager Guitar while hunting around e-bay and the 'no more sore fingers' caught my attention. I ordered it late Friday night and received it on Thursday in great shape and ready to play. As a raw beginner, I won't call it magic but it is definitely much easier to play. The string height and spacing allows me to make the notes sound clear and the tone is great. One of my biggest tasks is to learn that I don't have to press so hard on the fret board. It is a beautiful instrument and now I have a great tool to work with. The rest is up to me. My son loves it too. I am afraid I might have to share it. Thanks very much and I'll be one constantly logged on to your web site trying to learn as much as I can. Yours truly in tune,

08/01/2004 Dennis , I wanted you to know I received my new guitar yesterday . I was very impressed with it's beauty and sound , not to mention the ease of playing . As a retired aircraft mechanic , I have arthritis due to broken and jammed fingures over the past 35 years . Your " EZ Play String Science" has made it possible to keep on playing or in my case , make a lot of noise . My only wish is to be able to play well enough to complement the beauty and sound of this wonderful guitar . Thanks again.

07/29/2004 Hi Denny, Just wanted to let you know that I am very pleased with the quality and sound and my new Zager guitar. I have also signed up for the lessons which by the way is a great deal for anyone who has the desire to learn to play the right way! After two weeks I am pretty close to playing Love Me Tender all the way through. It has been some work but also a real pleasure to know the progress that I have made- I trust my wife's feedback. I wish that these resources were available to me as a teenager my guitar playing would have been so much more fun. Even though I am 55, your approach to guitar playing has me excited about playing all over again. Your prices are very reasonable and a wonderful value for anyone interested about playing guitar. Keep it coming! Best Wishes for a Great Holiday Season!

07/26/2004 Dear Denny, My husband surprised me a year ago with a Christmas gift of an E-Z Play Martin DM-1 Acoustic. This came about as a result of my trying, in vain, to play his acoustic/electric and quickly losing interest. I had no problem memorizing chords and putting a song together, but I could barely get my petite hand around the neck, nor could I muster enough hand strength to lay down a bar chord properly. I wound up "faking" my way through several chords, only to develop painful blisters on my fingers that later calloused over. My husband said that was a normal consequence of playing guitar, but I found that if I didn't keep playing, the callouses would disappear and I'd have to go through painful blisters all over again. Needless to say, as much as I liked the idea of playing the guitar, I wondered how people would want to even do this for a living. My husband said a Martin guitar might be easier for me to play so I did research on them on the Internet and found out about E-Z play guitars by accident. I asked my husband about them but he had never heard about the Zager method, so I didn't know if one of these guitars would actually work for me. Eventually, I stopped playing altogether until my husband decided to look into these guitars himself and chose one for me. I have to say, I have never been happier. My parents had no idea I had any interest in guitar. After years of childhood piano lessons, I found that learning the guitar wasn't too difficult and with an E-Z play guitar on my lap I had no problem making proper chords, even bar chords. The best part is that even after playing my guitar for hours at a time, I have never ever developed a finger blister or a callous. After my husband started tooling around on it, he barely played his own guitar either. He loves the action on my guitar plus the tone from the guitar sounds so much better than he's ever heard on any of his former guitars. When Hurricane Katrina hit (we live just northeast of New Orleans), we only had space in our car for one of the guitars. Of course, we chose the E-Z play to take with us when we evacuated. We didn't figure on our house getting seven feet of water but as a result of the storm surge, my husband lost his guitar. Now I have to sneak my own guitar away to be able to play. Today, I decided to return my husband the favor and after reading some of your magazine reviews, I chose a black Zager ZAD-50 for his Christmas gift. I think he will be absolutely thrilled and I will finally get my guitar back. Thank you, Denny, for making guitar playing enjoyable for a novice like me, and an experienced player like my husband. I am grateful for being able to see how wonderful an instrument the guitar is. Music has been such a comfort to us as we try to rebuild our lives now that we're back in our hometown. We play so often now that our oldest daughter now wants to learn, so I'm sure that eventually we will be supplying the rest of our growing family with Zager guitars in the future. Sincerely,

07/23/2004 Hey there Denny - I've been using your online program for about six weeks now and I'm finally learning to use some discipline in my approach to the guitar. I have three Stratocasters, a Les Paul and an amplifier the size of a refrigerator, and I've spent the greater part of 34 years trying to emulate the well-known power rockers with a moderate degree of success. I also have a Martin D-1 that I bought five years ago which has been almost totally neglected. Truth to tell, the guitar has been as much a source of frustration for me as it has pleasure since 1971 when I started playing at the age of eighteen. I guess one could say without fear of contradiction that I have always tried to compensate for my musical shortcomings with brute force and ignorance. That is not pretty, but there it is. When it's just me, the acoustic guitar and your system alone in a quiet house, there are no watts to hide behind; no drunken throng to make me feel like I am a great guitarist when I know better. Every incorrectly executed note is right there to buzz, rattle or thud right in my face as if it had been routed through a thousand Marshall stacks. I tried for years to build on a shaky foundation and I am very grateful for the night I stumbled onto your web site. I can honestly say that the concept of music is now tugging at my heart in a way that it never did before. Thank you, sir. That Martin is one beautiful instrument. Sincerely,

07/22/2004 Hello Denny and Staff.....I ordered a ZAD 50 acoustic/electric guitar and case over the telephone about 5 months ago. At the time I had been looking at Taylor and Martin guitars at my local music store and online. I saw your guitars on ebay and read all the great feedback and saw your 100% guarantee including shipping and thought I would take a chance on your guitar. I have been playing for 30 years now and the last 20 I have been in various local bands. I have spent many 1000's of dollars over the years on equipment... PA, studio (which I still have) and guitars amps etc.so I know what sounds good and what does not. With that being said, the Zager ZAD 50 is an AWESOME guitar. When it arrived I opened the box and was immediately impressed with the quality of the case. Then I opened the case and inside was a truly beautiful guitar. I looked it over very closely at first then I began to play it. It took only about 10 seconds to realize that this guitar was special. The sound that came out of the guitar was amazing. I played it for about an hour then started wondering what it sounded like plugged into an amp. I was in my house and the only amp in here was my 1982 2204 Marshall amp. I figured if it even sounded a little bit good through that monster then it would really sound good through a cleaner sounding amp. Anyways, I plugged it in and it sounded pretty good through the Marshall...Good enough that I took it out to my studio and played it through some of my other amps. I was VERY IMPRESSED once again. It sounded like an acoustic should sound with no feedback even at fairly loud volume. I must say that the demo clips on your website do not do this guitar justice. It sounds much better acoustically OR amplified than what I heard on there. I am SOOO glad I bought this guitar that I know in the next year or 2 I will be buying the ZAD 80 acoustic/electric also. Thanks for the T-shirt...strings...picks and the other stuff also. I framed the certificate of authenticity and it hangs proudly in my studio. I wear the T-shirt to my gigs proudly and I recommend this guitar to everyone I see! Thanks again SOOOO much for such a GREAT guitar so reasonably priced.

07/20/2004 Hi Denny, got my guitar today. what a surprise, the fit and finish are like a $3,000 guitar and it also plays as good as if not better than anything I have played before and at 55 years old I have played lots!!!Thanks again and I don't know how you do it for the price. 07/20/2004 I may be a novice, but the only reason I'm still playing guitar is because of your company. I find that it's harder and harder to be a small business owner these days with big corporations and rich investors trying to muscle in on everyone's territory. Thankfully, there are still customers out there like me who are choosy about where they spend their money and look for quality and service over cheap prices and products that break down in a month. Plus, I enjoy giving repeat business to the right folks. I will never forget how my husband raved about your company's service as I was unwrapping my guitar. Believe me, it takes a lot to get him excited about anything, and he passes on good words, to this day, about Zager Guitars to anyone who will listen. Thanks again for making guitar playing fun! 07/17/2004 I just wanted to say that I received my guitar yesterday. Shipping was very fast even over the Thanksgiving Holiday. I have owned a guitar for about 4 years now and have been playing every day for a year. I been playing a Dean Tradition and it has been a good guitar. People with a lot more experience than me always comment on how good of a sound it has. I have a friend that has been playing in bands and acoustic gigs for about 20 years. He tried to talk me out of buying your guitar without ever hearing one. He owns a Taylor and loves it. He was at the house last night when I opened the package. The first comment was how beautiful a guitar it was but when we played it, we both were awe struck. We couldn't believe the sound that was coming from this instrument. The highs were so clear and the sound was incredible. To anyone who likes the looks, the idea, the information that you find about Zager guitars but who is unsure about buying one without ever playing one, just do it. The money back guarantee that you have is a very good idea but I wonder....does anyone ever return their guitar because they aren't happy with the sound or finish or playability? I doubt it! After I got over how good it sounds, I remembered that it is supposed to be easier to play. I played some songs that require sliding up a couple of frets and it was so easy. I then realized that I've been working so hard to play the guitar. I had to make myself ease up on the fret board and just relax. It's so easy to chord and to move around. I want to play my "old" guitar so that I can really tell how easy the Zager is to play but I can't put it down. I got the 80CE so I can't wait to plug it in and hear how it sounds. I'm having a New Year's Eve party and that will be the first time I have played in front of anyone and I'm glad that I went ahead and bought the Zager. I couldn't be happier with this guitar. I just have force myself now to relax, don't work so hard, just put my fingers where they are supposed to go and the sound will be there. I LOVE IT! Also, thanks for the T-shirt. My buddy tried to take it from me but I wouldn't let him have it.

07/14/2004 It's been a couple months now since I got my 80 from you and I just wanted to write back and say thank you once again. The more I play it the more I like it. Your guitar has made it so easy to play, that I am now playing things I had been trying to get down for months before I got your guitar. I still every once in a while go back to my old Ibanez when I don't have yours with me, and there is such a huge difference it's amazing. I can't play nearly as long, and some of the chord structures and notes don't come as easy. I'm now because of your guitar looking to start up a band, and should that happen and we start getting gigs I'll be back to order either the 50 or 80ce. Thanks again.

07/12/2004 This guitar sounds unbelievable and is so easy to play. After receiving the guitar, I went to the store to compare and picked up $1000 guitar. I felt like I was playing a guitar from Walmart compared to the Zager guitar. I can't rave enough about it, you just have to play it to believe it! Thank you for making such an awesome product!

07/12/2004 HI there, I just wanted to say thanks again for the guitars. I bought a second one after my daughter took my first one. She now plays it all the time with her friends alone and at church. It is amazing how a guitar even though it is an inatimate instrument it can also become a friend.

07/08/2004 Dear Denny, Thank you. Thank you. Thank you! Got my Zager ZAD50 this morning. This IS what I wanted! The tone is incredible (and is incredibly brighter and fuller than the Martin, you were dead on!) and it's beautiful! The sounds coming from this are amazing. I went to a guitar shop this weekend, and this reminds me so much more of the $3000-$4000 Martins, than the Takemine and Ibanez guitars in this range. Been playing all morning. I love it. Thank you and thanks for the great service.

07/06/2004 I gave my daughter the ZAD15 last night and she was thrilled. My oldest daughter has been showing her some chords recently on an Old early 70's Guild D 40 I gave her a few years back when I began showing her (my oldest) how to play, so my youngest knew some basic finger positions. Her 1st chord on this guitar was a C which she made and strummed and it sounded nice. She really liked the fact that she could hold the guitar and press so easily compared to the old warhorse Guild I think the size of this guitar, coupled with low action and extra light strings will help her in her desire to learn. I am pleased and she is thrilled.

07/05/2004 There's really not enough that I can say about the ZAD-80 that I just received today. It's awesome in every way! I was a Sales manager for Guitar Center in Chicago and Detroit, I've owned very high end acoustics of virtually every make, and would've been very hard pressed to find much more than a 25 year old Martin that really would compare. I don't know how you guys do it, but it's for real. Being that I had a broken thumb a few years back, it made playing virtually any acoustic hard to play for any length of time, and then the answer came in this instrument. Thanks so much for what you and Denny are doing!!! I could go on for a long time about the whole package that Zager Guitars gives a customer, but I just have to say try one, and you will not be disappointed!!!

07/02/2004 Hi Denny, Received the ZAD-50 right on time just as promised. This guitar is a work of art! Beautifully finished top to bottom. I had it shipped to my office and one of my co-workers who is an accomplished musician, saw the box in my office and asked about it. He also agreed that it was a beautiful instrument and in his words "professionally set-up and had a very low action". It is indeed easier to play than the custom Gibson SG electric I had borrowed (from him) till your guitar arrived. I couldn't be more pleased. My wife was playing around with it and now she wants to learn as well. I may be ordering another real soon. Thanks for a wonderful instrument and fantastic service. Best Regards,

07/02/2004 Hello, I am 42, and I just started learning to play with an electric guitar; however, i got tired of practicing, at times w/o the amp. So, I then decided to look for an acusitc guitar. Of course I started to look at the $50 dollar guitars on Ebay. One problem I have playing is that I have big fingers (need to go on a diet) and have a hard time playing my electric guitar. I always wondered don't they make a guitar with a wider fret. Then, all of a sudden I happen cross your web page that talked about the easy play guitar. I then purchased one for $395. So, a big difference from my initial desire of a $50 guitar, but I listened to your videos and initial guitar purchase and I agreed with it. Well, I love the guitar, and I love the smell of the wood. The ceder (????) smell makes me want to play on it more. I love it and the wider fret is a dream come true. ,

06/24/2004 Well, after playing your ZAD 50 for a week now I have offically accepted it into the family. I peeled the pick guard protective cover off last night. I compared the ZAD 50 to several other dreadnaughts from well known mfgs. owned by friends of mine plus a trip to one of our local music stores. Hands down, no competition! Fit, finish and playability is truly outstanding. Congratulations on a great guitar. Thanks.

06/23/2004 I received the Zad 50CE Sunburst 2 days after I ordered it and it is beautiful. I got a discounted guitar and I cannot find any indication of a blemish. The strings are very easy to hold down and I believe that I will finally be able to learn to play.I attempted to learn to play 30 years ago (I am 52 now) but sore fingers and an inability to keep the guitar in tune left me frustrated enough to stop. I am ready now. Thank you

06/22/2004 Today my ZAD-50 arrived. I am a 50 year male who in the late 60s and early 70s played in garage bands. I have not touched a guitar since 1980. I recently decided to get back into strumming just to have something to do to relax. I searched the music stores and the web for the latest offerings since I had not shopped for a guitar in more than 30 years. As I thought about buying a guitar I recalled the sore fingers and hard to form barre chords from my youth and I was looking for an easy to play instrument. I refreshed my knowledge base about the action of guitars and went on my hunt. I came across Zager Guitars from an eBay ad. I was immediately attracted to the notion of E-Z Play and began to research the product more closely. I found that Zager guitars received rave reviews at every corner.

First let me testify that there is no hype associated with all you have read. I start out with a bow to Dennis and the customer service he provided. I wrote, about a month ago, several of the "name brand" guitar manufacturers to get more information and advice. I have yet to receive a reply from any of them. I wrote Dennis several times and every message was answered the same day usually within the hour. He helped me all aspects of this purchase and provided me good and meaningful information (which is also available on the Zager web site in great detail). I am just stunned by the high quality of the customer service provided. I do not know how any company could offer finer customer service.

Next we come to the "look" of the guitar. It is in a word beautiful. The high quality of the craftsmanship is evident and the tuning pegs are a work of engineering--I never before noticed such high quality tuning pegs. I admit I am not very knowledgeable but all components of the instrument are clearly of the highest quality and expertly assembled. The finish is outstanding and the inlays really make this a "fancy" piece of craftsmanship. And I love that Denny signed the back of the guitar. It makes it appear to be a collector's item. This is truly a musical instrument to cherish and show off simply from these aspects.

I played around on more expensive guitars in music stores over the last couple of weeks. While my skill set did not test the instruments, I could tell a poor sounding instrument from one with excellent tone. The ZAD-50 sounds as good or better than any other instrument I tested. I love the sound. One of my partners who plays regularly gave the ZAD-50 a test run and before I told him anything about the guitar he remarked it has excellent tone. You will not be disappointed in the sound of this guitar.

Now to the real reason I chose this guitar: The EZ Play technology. I have over the last three hours continuously played the guitar in my office (hold all calls please) and my fingers are barely sensitive. These are fingers which have not done more than strum a few chords in a music store for about 25 years. Surprisingly all the chords sound clear, and I could even pull off a few quality barre chords. The spacing of the stings on this guitar in both the horizontal and vertical dimensions really makes a difference in its playability. Over the last few weeks I have tried to play in music stores all the name brands in the same or higher price ranges and could not make as clean a sound as I have just this afternoon on the ZAD-50.

These comments are all first impressions by someone who is just above a beginner level. I am by no means someone who should give any advice except to say if you are in a similar position to me then I can tell you I think you should at least know I am very impressed with my selection and thrilled with the guitar. I not wait to get home to start on Denny's instruction program, in which I have already enrolled. Let's see how sore my fingers are Monday after a weekend getting re-acquainted with the guitar!

Thank you to everyone at Zager. My experience with you has brought me back to recreational music and is allowing me to relive some of my youth.

06/20/2004 Dennis, I just ordered the guitar yesterday afternoon and I couldn't believe it when I checked the tracking number you sent early this morning and found that the guitar had already arrived in Sioux City. I decided not to wait for the delivery truck and met them at the office door at 8:00 AM and picked it up myself. I just stopped playing for a moment to let you know it made it safe and sound and it is everything you folks said it would be. This is really going to be a good weekend getting togather with a few of the people I jam with. Can't wait. Thanks again.

06/20/2004 Dennis- I have to say thanks for the great service getting me the new guitar for my Son. The only problem is I have to wait to give it to him at Christmas...

The Guitar (ZAD50CE) arrived as described (20 minutes before my Tuesday lesson), I have to admit to being somewhat skeptical of all the claims on the site about your guitars so I took it with me to have my instructor (who is also my son's instructor) give it his blessing or curse... We opened up the guitar and were immediately impressed with the apparent build quality. I handed it to him to play. He tuned it (hardly needed tuning) and immediately started ripping away and smiling. He looked at me after a moment paused and said "WOW! This is a winner! How much did you say this was?".

I played it for my 1/2 hour lesson and was impressed with how easily it played. I come home shoed it to my wife and promptly hid it away till holiday time is upon us, I have been slaving away on my old guitar and wondering when I can afford one for myself... Tonight after an hour of playing my Canadian (Art & Luthier) and getting cramps from learning bar chords, I snuck the Zad out of hiding and played for another 1/2 hour almost cramp free, I am totally sold on your "String Science" and slender neck design. Now I am just a beginner so I have not much to compare it with, but it is an awesome sounding guitar and look forward to presenting it to my son, and also saving enough to get one for myself. I have put his back in hiding and will try not to break it out to often over the next month and a half.

I hope I have not bored you with this but wanted to let you know how pleased I am with the guitar. I Will be in touch again hopefully sooner than later to buy another.

Regards,

06/17/2004 Good Morning Dennis, I want you to know that I am very happy with the Zad50CE that you just sent me. Thanks so much for the kind way that you, Tony & your dad have treated me. When I call the company, Tony is always very helpful and understanding. Each time I have emailed, you have personally responded within the same day. The work that Denny and all of you put out and represent is quite frankly unmatched. I felt that I got a great deal, and exactly what was I was told that I would get. I finally got my first chance to play with someone last night and had a ball. It was amazing how high the action was on my friends Takamanie sp? He was quite impressed with the playability and the sound of my Zad. He spoke of needing to get a new one and I again pointed him to the website. I am playing more than I ever have. It is more rewarding to play when the chords sound clearer and not having to fight to form them. It is also less fatiguing with the thickness of the neck being a bit less than I am used to. I will be selling my Ovation Anniversary model 1657. As I have told you before, I am extremely glad that I found your website. The testimonials of the other happy customers, and the money back guarantee did it for me. Thank you for the beautiful guitar. I have already had one friend order a ZAD 80 with which he is also very happy and playing it instead of his 2 Martins. I will continue to refer your guitars at every opportunity. Feel free to use any or all parts of this if you wish. Your new friend from Hood River Oregon.
