02/05/2012 Denny, I want to sincerely thank you for providing these lessons. I really hope you realize how much you help people like myself , I could not find lessons so simple and clear anywhere. I have learned more from your online lessons than I have from all of the books and dvd's that I own. With private lessons being so expensive and only being once a week, also the problem of finding a teacher that can simplify the lessons , made me give up learning so many times. You have somehow found a way to take out the confusion and now I understand everything that use to puzzle me. Once again Thank You. |

I am self-taught from basically listening to old folk albums long enough to figure out what they're doing (with a little help from some friends that taught me standard and bar chords), but I don't know anything about music and can't do much more than play basic rhythm guitar and sing - your site has taken me beyond this and brought my playing into an entirely new realm. Very complete, concise and Denny makes everything he teaches easily understandable. You have done an excellent job in relaying your information and knowledge in an effort to assist others who would also like to be able to play their guitars well. I've struggled off and on for several years too many, in an attempt to teach myself how to play well, with time being a major stumbling block. 01/29/2012 The Zager videos have been incredibly helpful. After months of using other instructional methods, thinking about spending a lot of money on a private instructor, and a single guitar book that didn't help me in the least, I happened upon these videos and have since made terrific progress. Zager's videos, along with their instructional materials, are the perfect tool for beginners who want to learn the fundamentals of guitar. When I started, I had never picked up a guitar before. I was a total beginner. Now I can take my guitar lessons across the country with me and not miss a session just because I'm away from home; they're right there on my laptop. Where else can I do that? 01/23/2012 Hi Denny, I thought since I am loving your lessons so much, I would write a short testimonial to you. This is really the first time I have ever been excited about learning guitar! What I really like are the videos that show me how to play songs step by step. They are tricky enough to force you to work at them, but at the same time simple enough that you can figure them out and feel like you're succeeding in it. Before when I was learning, I didn't have a way to judge how I was doing and I just got too frustrated. 01/14/2012 I'd just like to tell you guys that you have created the absolute best online instructional experience available-EVER. I'm a player of 13 years and a touring professional for the last six, but have been wanting to return to lessons to broaden my abilities. But, setting up a time and place to drive to class is difficult, due to my schedule. I saw the ad for this site on Google and was hesitant to check it out b/c most online tutorials don't come close to what it's like being in the room with a teacher. But, this site has changed my outlook on that for good.
Please, never take this away from us!!! It's literally like having hundreds of instructional DVD's in one place. |

01/11/2012 I work and attend college so I'm only available at night. Because of this, it's hard to find a guitar teacher in the vicinity that can adjust to a schedule that changes very often. Denny's method is great in that respect because it is available whenever I want it to be.....
The guitar lessons are well taught and the amount of resources provided by Denny's lessons is priceless. The addition of song lessons ensures that players will be learning actual music as well as technique. |

01/11/2012 I started to learn the guitar with Denny recently. I am delighted to have found in him the qualities you would expect from a good teacher: he is regular, on time, always cheerful, he is calm, patient and I receive encouraging words in his way of teaching guitar. Also, he will teach the same lesson over and over again for me. This is because he is in the videos. My guitar learning experience is tailored exactly to my needs, by me, when and where I have the time to learn. To anybody else who lives a busy life - I would recommend him and his lessons. I've made so much progress just because I can take a lesson whenever I want to, instead of rushing to make it on time to a face to face lesson that I can't repeat later if I need to watch it again. 01/08/2012 I always wanted to learn how to play guitar but my "Guitar for Dummies" book just wasn't cutting it. I took up lessons with Denny last May and it has been one of the most rewarding experiences in my life. Denny has a very modern teaching philosophy which incorporates many styles of music. 01/03/2012 I have been playing the acoustic guitar for 20 years now and still find myself somewhere between basic and intermediate skill levels. Over the years I have briefly tried many teachers for a few lessons here and there, but never found anyone that sparked my interest in becoming a better player; that is until I "met" Denny. Denny's patience, organized approach to learning, and database of progressing lessons are allowing me to become the guitarist that I've always wanted to be. 12/30/2011 I found Denny's instructions and practice remarkably easy, which quickly built up my ability to play. As I progressed through the sections and my playing improved, I found my self excited and wanting to get back into the site for more.

12/30/2011 Hi Denny, It may be a little early to say, although I highly doubt it, but I will tell you this much, I had never been able to learn the guitar and I had been trying for years. Never really able to get into it because I am very intense and want to learn quickly, so I would get frustrated with the way people were telling me how to play and all of that. There were no "results", at least not any that I could see. I went to your website a couple weeks ago, joined and a couple hours of practicing later, I was actually "playing" the guitar! I can see results happening before my eyes and it's great! I have only been a member since New Year's though, but I am really excited and I will definitely be hanging around the site! I've always wanted to play, and gave it a few weak tries over the years, but now that the kids are out of the house, I have no better time to really stick with it. I randomly landed on your page one day and after about a half hour of browsing around I bought a year of your guitar lessons. Since then I've learned more and can play more songs then I thought I'd be playing 2 years from when I started. I have played acoustic guitar for over 6 years and I have picked up my skills mainly by myself, apart from learning the basic chords. 12/02/2011 I have been taking lessons from Denny for almost 2 years now, found him the same way you just did, online. And in those three years his online lessons have taught me so much, from the basic strumming of chords right up to where I am now, which is writing my own songs. You might think 2 years is a long time to be taking lessons, but it's because he has so much to teach and I have so much to learn. I want to really soak it in, and it's hard not to want to rush to the next step. 11/30/2011 The good thing about Denny's lesson videos is that they are concise, easy to understand, and laid out in a logical fashion. You start with the very very basics and work your way up. Denny has such a variety of lessons and techniques. Good stuff! I've progressed really fast with these lessons. I can play the songs I want and easily learn new ones too. A couple of my guitar buddies can play about 7 song intros and that's it... not me though.. I'm a Zager guitar lesson student. |

11/22/2011 Denny's guitar lessons are unreal. He's very down to earth and up front with his students through his videos. I like that he's very easy to listen to and learn from. Another thing that that I value about Denny's method of teaching is that he actually HAS a method of teaching. Most teachers are pretty haphazard and random in what they teach, and from my own experience, I was often left not being able to integrate everything I was learning into my playing or was presented with lessons that were way beyond my ability at the time. Denny has a system in which he teaches skill sets that build on one another and are reinforced by learning songs that are not only fun to play but integrate those skill sets. I'm already on Stage 3 and loving the whole package!

He has a thorough knowledge of music theory that dovetails nicely with his mastery of techniques covering a wide range of musical genres. 11/18/2011 When I first sat down with the idea of learning to play guitar I wanted to go beyond just learning some standard licks and tunes to impress some people who know even less than I do. Instead, I wanted to be able to sit down and play along with whatever was on the radio, the cd player, the ipod. I haven't been playing all that long and already I can do that. No doubt practice makes perfect---or at least pretty good-and that's my responsibility. But Denny's lessons have given me the tools I need to make music from scratch. 11/15/2011 I've learned more from Denny's guitar lesson videos in 3 months of lessons (I try to set aside Sunday nights at the very least) then I did in 3 years of lessons (1/2 hour once a week) with my previous teacher. If I had only known about Denny's lessons 3+ years ago I could have saved myself a ton of money and would be a 100 times better player right now.... oh well you live and learn. 11/12/2011 In the 6 months or so that I've spent studying with Denny's Zager Guitar lessons, my playing has drastically improved. Having played for about 2 years prior to my first session, I was skeptical of the improvement that I would make as a student, but after only 2 or 3 lessons, I noticed a betterment in my tone, my speed, and my ability to play difficult rhythms. Using Denny's methods, my sound is a whole lot cleaner, and I can play difficult and fast sections of music easily and without error. My improvisational ability has increased, too, simply from following the lessons and instructions I am given. I could not recommend Denny's lesson program any higher. No matter what level of ability you are at, he and his videos can help you improve your playing quickly and easily. |

11/12/2011 I received a year membership to Denny's guitar videos for a gift about a year and a half ago and then decided to take a break from new lessons. I did this so I could digest everything that Denny has on his website... a lot of material to study and familiarize myself with. During this time I tried out several other guitar teachers just out of curiosity, at music stores, private teachers.. even group lessons at the local college...well, I'm happy to say I am now back with Denny for a second year membership. The moral of the story is that there's no point in going anywhere else for lessons. Denny simply provides the BEST guitar instruction service out there, his style and technique is in a league all by itself. Denny will take you from A to Z instead of most website guitar lessons that drop you off in the dark after simple tabs.... 11/06/2011 Denny Zager is a very talented musician and teacher. He takes guitar teaching very seriously, and therefore is constantly striving to improve himself and his lesson videos. His lessons are very easy to follow along with and if need be, to replay and watch again, pause, etc. Not to mention there is access to a plethora of information mixed in with each video. All this at a reasonable cost. What more could you ask for...I'm very satisfied with Denny as my guitar teacher because I don't have to set a time to drive across town for a measly hour lesson a mere once a week, then go home with questions about the material and wishing he could show me again. All this is easy to access from my home and I can take 6 lessons a day if I want. Very convenient and they work well! My playing has improved so much because of these lessons. |

After I found zagerguitar.com and Denny's video guitar lessons, I learned to read that language and use it to make music. I also researched tabs on the internet and got even better at some techniques such as fingerpicking, which seems to be Denny's specialty. I'm so happy I found and chose Denny's Zager lessons. Now I can fluently speak 3 languages. |

11/03/2011 I took guitar as a young man, and set it aside until November of 2006. I picked it back up and was lucky enough to find Zagerguitar.com, and Denny as an Instructor. Denny has a rare talent of being able to connect with students of all skill levels through his videos, and challenge them with technique, and theory. His knowledge of both the guitar and music theory are amazing, and very exciting to be a part of his program. I would highly recommend Zager lessons for anyone wanting to learn guitar, or just improve. It's unlike any guitar lessons I've ever heard of. His style of playing is outstanding. Thank you Denny Zager for all your wonderful tips and techniques! |

11/02/2011 Denny's Zager.com guitar lesson videos have been great at helping me build a foundation of basic theory that i never learned... understanding the "whys" and "hows" of the things I already knew how to play made moving forward with my playing much easier... not to mention he's got an endless bag of tricks that I still like to steal on a regular basis! 10/31/2011 I have wanted to play the guitar for as long as I can remember. But as an adult with three kids who has to negotiate time for a shower, guitar lessons and practice time seemed unlikely. My husband surprised me for Christmas one year with a new guitar. Once again trying to encourage me, my children bought me 3 months of lessons from a local retail store. Out of the twelve lessons purchased, I probably made it to four of them due to my husband's unpredictable work schedule and the chaos that goes along with children. Additionally, finger picking one string at a time to "Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star" was not what I had in mind. Along came Zagerguitar.com. I was able to start my lessons at night - late enough that the kids would be asleep. Almost from my initial lesson I felt like I was actually playing guitar. Almost a year later I am really playing guitar; and though you won’t see me strumming at your local coffee house, I can download chords and actually play along with some of my favorite songs. I am truly convinced that if Denny's lessons can teach me to play, he can teach anyone. |

10/31/2011 Denny and his guitar video lessons are presently my guitar teacher. Since I have been taking lessons from him, I have found him to be an incredible performer and having a gift for teaching. Beyond his technical ability and knowledge, I feel he has a dedication and caring about his students' needs. I appreciate his patient, kindness and humble personality. I highly recommend him as an excellent teaching model. I'm learning to fingerpick - something I never thought I'd even WANT to learn. I just love it. |
