12/07/2007 I ran across Zager Guitars online, and I was very impressed even by the tone from the website, as well as the beauty, and information, a lot of companies do not tell you the details Zager does. Zager guitar company isvery prompt more than any other guitar company I have ever dealt with, it's the least I could say their customer service and support is 120%.
I am a professional musician and we will stand behind Zager and their guitars and reccomend them to all musicians professional or beginners |

12/06/2007 Mr. Zager
Well, was i ever blown away, This guitar definitely lived up to the hype! Rarely, and i mean RARELY am i impressed with guarantees and usually you get what you pay for, but for such an incredible price, i got a truly incredible instrument. Wonderful action, NO BUZZING on bar chords further down the neck, the thing was even almost in perfect tune when it got here. I have found my guitar supplier and will be doing alot more business in the future with you all, thank you for your dedication to making high quality equipment at an incredible price! If you want to see someones passion in their work, buy one of these guitars! Thanks Again, |

12/03/2007 Hello Dennis:
With the easy-play system a beginning student is able to play the steel strings with ease.
I studied music at college and play the piano and other keyboards.
The music store’s are full of guitars, most of them just junk. If you are serious about learning the guitar
and can afford too, buy a zager guitar, or at least try one.
My old amplifier came to life when I connected my Zager guitar, played good and loud like an electric one.
The only problem is, how do I keep my finger prints off this pretty guitar ?
Thank you, |

12/03/2007 Hi, Denny!
My beautiful ZAD 80 arrived on Friday, two days ago. My son was able to enjoy it for an hour or two before he had to get ready to leave for Spain.
I have never played guitar, so don't know much about them. Justin thought it is a fine guitar, good looking and good sounding (he has a Martin). Said I made a great choice.
Today, just for fun, I took my new guitar to two different music stores in Tucson to ask professional people to play it for me, and then to play a comparable Martin or Taylor for comparison. The first gentleman was reluctant to praise the 80 too highly, but he couldn't help admitting it was a good guitar for the money. After showing me what a comparable Martin sounds like, I asked what the price was for the Martin -- $2300! That's what he thinks is comparable to the 80!!
At the second place, the young man who evaluated your guitar for me was really pleased with it, several times calling it "a great guitar". I didn't bother with a comparison there.
So, there you have it. I am so very pleased with my purchase from you! Thank you many times over for thinking of and helping 64 year old beginners like me!!!
Thank you again,
Caroline Keller |

12/03/2007 To be honest with you, I have been playing acoustic guitar for many years,
and never thought that I would be able to afford a guitar that sounds and
plays as good as the Zager. Yet by luck of my tax return, and the remarkably
fair price of your 20CE, I got my wish.
Every single person that has seen and played my new guitar has told me
that Zager will be their next new guitar purchase.

11/30/2007 I received my ZAD- 20 CE in black on Friday, It is a great looking guitar, the tuner is so fast and easy to use. The guitar plays and sounds just like on the the video it is also so light weight compared to my Fender and my Guild. I am very happy with it. I have a Fender DG-31 w/ Mohogany b/s and spruce top that I used to play all the time and comparing the sounds the fender has a little deeper tone but maybe thats because it's 7 years old. The ZAD -20 is very bright sounding and crisp and it plays easier than the fender.
Right Before I found your web site I purchased a Guild CO-1C that is mahogany B/S with ceder top that has a deeper tone also but doesn't play as easy as the ZAGER. I may try to sell the Guild and purchase a ZAD-80 CE. If I had only known about you sooner.
I have a couple of questions , the ZAD- 20 ce is mahogany b/s with spruce top and the sides look like mahogany but the back doesn't, it looks like different wood compared to my fender and my Guild. Is there different looking kinds of mahogany?
Also I wondered if you ever make one with a rosewood back and a spruce top in a cut away dreadnought, and also do you ever make a KOA wood guitar?
Thank you for a quality sounding instrument at a very resonable price, I know I will be doing business with you in the future and so will my friends when they hear this guitar.
Have a blessed day! |

11/27/2007 Greetings
Ordering a guitar over the internet concerned me but the testimonials sounded too good to pass by. I must tell you that my Zager has lived up to all of my expectations and, in fact, surpassed them. I have a 1969 Martin D-18 and a Taylor T-5 and find this guitar to be just as enjoyable at a fraction of the cost.
Thank you so much. |

11/25/2007 I recently took delivery of an 80-CE. I have been playing for over 40
years and have had just about everything, electric and acoustic, in my
hands over the years: Gibson Heritage, Custom Deluxe '69 SAG, ES-137,
American HESS Start and more is what I have on hand now, all custom set
up. So as an educated skeptic, here's what I say about my ZED 80-CE:
great bang for the buck. The sound for that price is banging'. Nice
tone for a cutaway and great volume. The finish is first cabin out of
the case, and the bindings are nicely executed (we love abalone here in
California) with a subtle touch that looks quality. I am extremely
pleased with the electronics; a fine sound that stacks up pretty well
with anything I've had my hands on. The tuner, after some experience,
works great. It gets me really close. (this from a guy that can almost
get physically ill when a musical instrument is out of tune...one step
down from perfect pitch)
I bought this because my sons have been 'borrowing' my other guitars.
I'm happy, however, they are not. They want one now...
A great web buying experience. I also enjoyed (though not always agreed
with) Denny's tips.
Even my friends who insist on campfire entertainment noticed. Of course,
after a couple of tequilas, I'm not sure their judgment can be relied
upon.
So I am satisfied that my money was well spent and will recommended
Zager guitars, especially to beginners. |

11/24/2007 Denny:
I recently purchased a ZAD 20-CE from you. I found you to be
extremely professional, very courteous, and your product is all that you
represented it to be. It's refreshing to see someone so committed to
their reputation - clearly you've worked hard to establish it, and
continue to work hard to protect it. I applaud your committment to
excellence. I've enjoyed playing the new guitar, and can practice quite a
bit longer because of the easy action. Thank you again for what you do!
Blessings, |

11/23/2007 Frankly,
I purchased this guitar because of the outstanding reviews I read on
places like Harmony Central. As far as I am concerned, the ZAD 80CE
that I bought exceeded my expectations and was as good as any review I
read prior to purchasing.
I have played the Zager along side of a newer Martin D-45V and most
people could not really tell them apart as far as sound quality. They
sound different, but both have great sound! That Martin is a $7000
guitar, and most of the people that have compared the sounds have pretty
good ears!! If that is not a testimonial, then I don't know what is. I
want to play these two guitars side-by-side in about 10 years when they
have both been aged properly!
Thanks for a GREAT guitar! Tell Denny that I have loved the song since
it first became a hit and it is a prominent sound in all my electronics,
from my iPod to my old Wurlitzer Juke Box playing a 45! I don't let too
many people actually play the 45 since I am not sure I can replace it
when it wears out!!
Regards,
|

11/21/2007 Hello Denny,
I purchased your Black zad 20 and can't put it down. It was my best investment. I absolutely love it. It's an honor to talk to you. In 1969 I loved your hit 2525 and to this day can remember the lyrics and melody. All the best, |

11/21/2007 Greetings from Indiana;
I just visited Michigan and heard all our instruments. I wanted to tell you how happy Richard, Mark and I all are with our guitars! They exceed all our needs and expectations in every way. We all thank you for being there and making this all possible. I wouldn't trade guitars with anyone I know!! My sound is so very good.
Thanks for your consideration and your continued success in your business.
Best regards, |

11/18/2007 Hi,
This testimonial might be longer than some but that is because I own 2 different model Zager guitars and would like to mention each.
I was a concert classical guitarist for a little over 25 years. I taught both nylon stringed classical and steel stringed guitar. When I was teaching, I would always have to warm up prior to teaching steel string guitar for before a student came over since my primary instrument was a nylon stringed classical guitar and the string spacing and feel is different. The strings on a regular steel string are both usually MUCH closer together and usually much harder to press down.
A year ago I discovered the Zager guitar site. I am losing the use of my hands and wanted to find a place (whether it was a book or a web site) that I could use in conjunction with my physical abilities since they have started to decay, to send students to.
While hunting I found Denny’s site and was amazed. It’s the complete package. He covers everything from the very basics up to more advanced techniques. He also provides a wealth of videos and written materials and probably more sheet music than a student would play in a life time. I saw the section on the site where Denny describes what he terms his string science. To be honest, at first I thought it was a gimmick. The first one of his acoustic guitars I got, the ZAD-20 floored me. I’ve owned guitars made by Martin, Taylor, Washburn, Yamaha and Fender (on the steel string side) over the years and none held a candle to this one and I paid at least 2 to 4 times as much money for some of the others. It produces a perfect balance of sound from deep lows to crisp highs.
The second guitar I own is the ZAD-15; I think it’s also called the baby Zager on the web site. I have this one around now because it’s easier on my hands. After getting the first one I knew it would be made of quality woods but I expected it to sound more like a toy. It may not sound as rich as a full sized guitar but it’s also amazingly full sounding. Every note is clear from the lows to the highs. It also sounds much louder than I ever imagined it could for its size.
That brings me to the last point I want to make and an apology owed to Denny Zager. Like I said, I thought that string science was a gimmick. It’s anything but; it really is a science and art combined. Sorry Denny for not realizing what could be done to make a guitar so playable.
If anyone reading this has decided to learn Denny’s method of playing you owe it to yourself to purchase one of his guitars. Heck, even if you already know how to play I would say purchase ANY of his guitars. |

11/15/2007 Hi! Denny,
I received the 80 ce a week or so ago....It was my for my son's 16th birthday. I set it aside (hidden of course) .
He opened his present a few days ago and absolutely loves it. His instructor who is a Taylor fan and also teaches music at San Diego State University started jamming on it....and for quite awhile forgot that he was supposed to be giving a lesson.....well, I guess he was as one could tell he really liked the guitar.
We hooked it up to an amp too ....a cheap one at that .....and wow! no comparison to his other guitars as well as the Taylor.
Ease of play was like everyone has said. It's got me playing again and my son is already spending more hours playing. |

11/13/2007 Thanks Dennis,
I just want you to know...if you ever need a good reference for your product. My Girlfriend and I are
sooooooo impressed with your guitars. Can't wait to get the new one. Everytime I take my Zager out,
and strum it...heads turn! Then I hear.....Man...does that guitar have beautiful sound!
Thanks for producing a great product at a fair price. |

11/13/2007 After all my questions (answered promptly and courteously) and hesitations, I'm really glad I purchased my ZAD 80. I did as Denny suggested and played it against a Taylor 3DN (the other guitar on my wish list) and even the salesman at the music store agreed that the Zager was the equal in sound and superior in playability. After getting the order straightened out (thanks, Dennis) the '80 turned out to be all that I had hoped. It plays beautifully, has a full sound, and amazing sustain. And it is just beautiful. Thanks! |

11/13/2007 What can I say? It was exactly as described. Beautiful and flawless. The sound humbled me as I have personally never had a guitar of this quality: crisp, clean, clear and not a thundering bass but a clean deep tone.
My son in law is a more advanced guitarist than me and said that it was so easy to play and beautiful sound. He has played 3k to 8k guitars that belongs to his grand father; and this one was as good in sound but played much better than the more expensive ones. Thanks again for such a quality guitar that is attainable for more folks. |

11/09/2007 Greetings Denny;
Happy Independence Day to you and yours.
This to let you know I received the guitar. A veeery nice piece of work! The ease of fingering on the fret board & the clarity of the tones was, to say the least, surprising. Thank You kindly. I've already had opportunity to (and did) advertise & show the guitar to 3 of my colleagues & a stranger I met in a local music store.
I may try some on-line lessons, as I am more self-taught from watching friends over the years. I'm sure I've developed more bad habits than a hobo in my playing :) I greatly enjoy the Zager guitar because it is a little smaller than my 1979 D-28 Martin (which causes the circulation in my right arm to be hindered), and the Zager has such nice sound!
Again, please count me grateful for the wonderful 'work of art' and all your musical work, in general.
Best Regards, |

11/07/2007 Hi Denny
I received my Zag 80 OM yesterday and all I can say is............WOW! I have been playing gitar for the past 20 years and own or have owned Martin's, Guild, Gurian, Washburn and Gibson. My present guitar, a Gibson J200 Special Edition is worth more than $3000. It cannot compare to the sound and ease of playing that I have experienced with the Zag 80. I suffer from tendinitis and at times trigger finger which makes any fingering (especially bar chords) difficult. When I attempted this on my new Zager guitar, I was amazed at the ease of playing as well as the incredible quality of the sound. Crisp and clean without the hint of a buzz. I am saving the box it came in so that I can put one of my others up for sale on ebay. After playing this for one day, it is fairly clear that I will not want to waste time fooling around with guitars that can't compare. I have also signed up for your online course. The help section for new owners is more than fantastic. I am learning things I never realized in all these years of owning and playing guitars. Thank you! Thank you!
Thank you! |

11/06/2007 Hi Denny
A reply this time from my work address as I have a quiet moment.
I have been waiting for opinions to collect my thoughts and impressions
before writing a testimonial on your guitar and equally importantly
service.
Firstly The entire experience has been very pleasant, fast and and
efficient. Whatever problems there were (some finishing issues you will
recall), were very quickly and fairly dealt with. Customer service and
satisfaction is clearly very high on your agenda, and it is a refreshing
change to get such quick and helpful email responses. Response time was
phenominal - usually within an hour. So thank you once again for all
your efforts on my behalf.
Secondly I would recommend to anyone considering purchasing a Zager
guitar - do it! The Zager warranty and commitment is rock solid so you
can buy with confidence. Even if things don't turn out completely as
you'd expect, there will be an acceptable solution as Zager go the extra
mile to leave their customers competely satisfied.
In terms of the sound and looks of the guitar:d Hered I only have the Zager and a rather battered budget Epiphone
(which it surpasses so easily). I will say that I am very happy
with my ZAD80, and the more I play it, the more I like it. It is a
beautiful looking guitar, has wonderful playability and tone to match.
Thanks once again for making the purchase such a pleasurable experience
- I will buy again from you!
Kind Regards |

Dear Dennis,
My latest Zager arrived yesterday, and once again my son and I were blown away by the quality of the instrument. This was a 3/4 size guitar--it is for my son's dormitory room and he thought the smaller guitar would work better--but the sound is full sized. This is our 3rd Zager and each one has been perfect. The workmanship on this latest guitar is really beautiful, the action is fantastic, of course, and the sound is very full and resonant. My son was amazed at how full the sound was; he played the guitar for three hours after it arrived. He is ecstatic to finally have his own Zager and he feels the smaller size is great for his needs.
Also, thanks for the extras you included. You run one of the absolutely finest organizations I have ever encountered, from customer service to the quality of your product, you people do it right, every time!
Thanks much, |

11/03/2007 Dear Mr. Zager,
I bought the Zager ZAD-20CE a month ago.
I loved the Zager’s on-line profile. I had to try it; and upon trying it,
I knew I had to keep it. It’s very attractive and sounds great. I’ve been
playing lots and learning lots (particularly about playing with a lighter
touch). But tonight I changed the strings, putting on the new ones that
you sent with my on-line purchase. I need to say that the WOW factor of
the sound is so apparent now. The tone is so smooth, so deep, so rich, so
bright, so balanced. I love my new guitar. I just keep playing and playing
my Zager.
Thanks, |

10/31/2007 Hey Denny,
I got my 20ce 10 days ago and decided to not touch my favorite guitar (one of 18) or any other until I had played the 20ce exclusively for that period of time. The plan was to pick up and play the favorite after 10 days so as to experience the difference, if any.
Actually, I felt like burning all 18 of my other collectors items. Wow, what a great machine this 20ce is - soooooo smooth, practically plays itself. I am one happy customer. Feel free to print this response anywhere you like. Expect referrals and thanks again for the excellent service. |

10/26/2007 Hello Denny, I received my zad20 2 days ago.I was waiting for a few days of playing, before sending you a message. I would have said you need to play an instrument before buying it,but all the good reviews and price convinced me to give you a try. I am very happy with the purchase. I had been playing a Martin dcx1e, purchased soley on sound and playability. It was set up decent and had great sound. My son and I picked up "many" guitars before buying it. My son loves the martin but tried to get my Zad20 because of its ease in playing. It surpassed our Martin. We both tried to guess which guitar was playing, while blind folded. I could on some songs, but not others. The Zad tends to be a bit brighter. We are well pleased and my son gets the Martin, because it's my choice. ha ha, Thanks |

10/22/2007 Let me preface by saying I've been playing guitar for over 30 years, although not professionally.
Prior to ordering the guitar I had many conversations with Denny Jr. by e-mail. My e-mails were always answered within a few minutes. Denny's patience was inexhaustible. I'm not one to buy products online and rarely have. I happened upon Zager guitars accidentally when I was just goofing around on the Internet and looking at eBay. After visiting their site I became intrigued. Their claims about their guitars seemed too good to be true, and I am first and foremost a skeptic. After many exchanges with Denny, and after reading their testimonials and scouring their money back guarantee for small print I decided I would give them a try. When I received the guitar and opened it and I was shocked at how good it looked. At the same time I was also suspicious. I took the guitar out and strummed it a couple of times. It was only slightly out of tune. After tuning it up I could not believe the volume and beautiful tone that came from this guitar. But I thought, surely something must be wrong with it. I inspected it from head to toe. I played around with it for a couple of days trying to find something wrong with it. I couldn't. I took it to a local guitar Luthier (some one who builds and repairs guitars). I told him I had the opportunity of purchasing this guitar, and an equal opportunity of returning it. I asked him to check it over, check the intonation, etc.. Then I asked him what he thought the value of this guitar might be. He told me that a fair price for the guitar would be anywhere from $1800 to $2300! Again I was shocked! I asked him then if I were to pay $600 for this guitar would it be a good price? He exclaimed, definitely, no question!
All in all, I don't see myself ever parting with this guitar. I have been playing for over 30 years so this is no small feat, and I don't expect any of you fellow skeptics out there to believe me anymore then I believed the other testimonials. But all I can say is believe. Whether you do or not is your choice. But believe me I would not have taken time that it took to write this review unless it w!
ere true. This review for Zager guitar is the only review I have ever written for any product. Enough said. |
