The Benefits Of Playing An Acoustic Electric Guitar
The acoustic electric guitar does not essentially differ from the normal acoustic guitar at first glance. But there is a very important dissimilarity and that is that the acoustic electric guitar has a build in pickup. This pickup is very handy because you no longer need to place in an additional pickup so you can amplify the guitar.
If you are playing for fun or by your self there is no real need for an acoustic electric guitar. In general, the normal acoustic guitar can generate enough volume by itself so, unless there are other instruments involved, you do not need amplification. You need to amplify it and that is of main concerns if you are playing with a band, the acoustic electric guitar being able to produce a pretty high amplification level.
Still the acoustic electric guitar has some advantages in comparison with the some guitars that have a pickup added. Playing with an electric guitar will mean that you do not need to worry about the pickup anymore since it will be always with you. It will not fall and there will be no need to drag it around. Besides, since the pickup is incorporated the chances are that they have superior quality and will be well mounted.
But maybe the best characteristic of the acoustic electric guitar is the build in controls that accompany the pickup. If you played an amplified non-electric acoustic guitar you know that it is really hard to control its volume. But with the electric ones you have the opportunity to manage the volume from a single button, rather that going to the amplifier somewhere on the stage and playing with the controls while trying to make it sound well again.
